Independence Day

jai Hind

15th August 1947 is a red letter day in the history of India. It is the day on which India got her independence after a long drawn struggle. The history of this struggle for freedom can be traced back to the first war of Independence fought against the rulers – British as far back as in 1857. The causes might have been any, but the spirit and sentiment behind it was to break away from the bounds and shackles of the British. This day reminds us all the sacrifices made by the freedom fighters to save our motherland. The ‘Tiranga’ is hoisted in the Red Fort and India Gate, where many citizens gather together and recite ‘Jana-Gana-Mana’ and ‘Jai Hind’ that quenches the hearts of all citizens that we are free as Indians. It is a Government holiday, so that everyone can celebrate the Independence Day!!!

So celebrate to your fullest with Mother India, for it comes once in a year!!!

I am the Tree!

Near oceans, near seas

Near forests I lie;

I am tall and shady

Can you guess who am I.

I have brown branches

And a variety of leaves,

Instead of cutting me

Can you plant me, please!

I protect you from

A drought or a flood.

I live in green meadows

Or in the deep mud.

I am tall as a lamp-post

Or short till your knee.

I provide you with Oxygen

For I AM THE TREE.

Football

It is a Game which is played

With legs and its called ‘Football’,

It is played in Stadiums

Which can be large or small.

There are eleven players on each side

And these players rely on

Their Coach who work as a guide.

There are two goalposts

Where you score goals;

The players wear boots with Studs

Which have rubber moulds under the soles.

The players have names like ‘Goalkeeper’

This game is known to a celebrity or a poor sweeper.

Guitar

img_0435

Not a tabla, not a sitar

It has a melodious sound

And its called a GUITAR.

It varies from Spanish to electric

We can play it with our fingers

Or a tool called Peak;

It has distinguishing colour

And six strings

It matches the beat when

A vocalist sings.

It is easy to play the guitar and sing

And by playing this you will

Not have any less happiness

Than a King.
