15th August 1947 is a red letter day in the history of India. It is the day on which India got her independence after a long drawn struggle. The history of this struggle for freedom can be traced back to the first war of Independence fought against the rulers – British as far back as in 1857. The causes might have been any, but the spirit and sentiment behind it was to break away from the bounds and shackles of the British. This day reminds us all the sacrifices made by the freedom fighters to save our motherland. The ‘Tiranga’ is hoisted in the Red Fort and India Gate, where many citizens gather together and recite ‘Jana-Gana-Mana’ and ‘Jai Hind’ that quenches the hearts of all citizens that we are free as Indians. It is a Government holiday, so that everyone can celebrate the Independence Day!!!
So celebrate to your fullest with Mother India, for it comes once in a year!!!
